Edward and Kelly’s Buxted Park wedding is typically English: with a church cermony and elegant, beautifully decorated hotel reception. It struck me from the very moment I saw the images – by Worthing based wedding photographer Victoria JK Lamburn. There’s a wonderfully light quality to the images, and an atmosphere of romance which I think some female wedding photographers capture exceptionally well. Oh, and a stunning bride. A handsome groom. The cutest bridesmaids! You’ll adore this wedding feature!
Buxted Park is owned and managed by the Handpicked Hotels group, who are known for wonderful country house hotels and for their classic British hospitality. Edward and Kelly made use of the grounds around the wedding venue for some fabulous portrait photography, which I think you’re going to love.
With thanks to Vicky Lamburn for sharing her images with us all today. I’m going to cheekily share a quote from one of Vicky’s emails: “It was such a memorable day for me even as just the photographer so it’s so lovely to know that the special day everyone had is now in lasting photo memories. Makes it so worthwhile!” Isn’t that just the loveliest thing to say?

Our wedding report: Edward and Kelly
Wedding photographer’s website:
Were you pleased with your wedding photographer?
We were over the moon with Victoria as our wedding photographer and we thought that the photographs that were taken for our wedding were superb – Victoria has a lovely natural style which was perfect for what we were looking for and also alongside the photography she was very friendly, with a huge personality and made us feel totally comfortable in front of the camera.
Wedding Venue:
Buxted Park Hotel
Can you describe your wedding in a single sentence?
A wonderfully perfect and magical day that we will treasure forever.
What was your reaction to seeing your wedding photos?
Our first reaction was definitely a big smile when looking through all the photographs, we were really happy with them. There are so many lovely images that captured the day beautifully from start to finish and looking back through them lets us share our happy memories with all our friends and family.
Your wedding style and theme:
A pastel style themed wedding with slight vintage elements such as birdcages on the table.
Any happy tears on the day?
There were definitely happy tears on the day and we were really emotional seeing all our family and friends, especially as our families live quite a long way from us. The day was filled with lovely speeches, personal poems and a reading from a close family member – it was a very emotional day all round.
How did the two of you meet?
We both met through a mutual friend at University many years ago and we instantly had a connection when we met each other for the first time. We went for a hot drink in a nearby cafe and spoke for hours and have never looked back – we are so happy to be married now – it’s a fantastic feeling!
Planning the wedding:
About 8 months planning with everything – it didn’t go too quickly and we tried to take our time with everything and to not forget anything on the wedding day!
Best bit of budget advice:
Negotiate as much as you can! Keep track of all the small things as they all add up very quickly!
Wedding invitations and on the day stationery:
Edward created the wedding invitations, designing them on the computer and we purchased other stationery items that were placed on the tables in the venue.
Did you fall in love with your wedding dress?
Yes, I absolutely loved it – first dress tried on, bought in 10 minutes, just before closing!!
The bride’s accessories:
Veil, Links of London bracelet and borrowed pearls and diamante hairclip.
The groom wore:
A custom Italian fitted suit in light grey with a lemon tie – The suit was purchased in Woodies outfitters in Brighton.
Bridesmaids:
The bridesmaids wore John Lewis dresses, tights and shoes from Accessorise and cardigans from Monsoon
Hair and make up:
Kelly’s friend from work did the hair and make up was done by a professional. Eyelash extensions were done by Urban Sanctuary in Haywards Heath.
Wedding Flowers:
Pollen4Hire did the wedding decorations and flowers in the venue.
What do you remember most about the wedding ceremony?
Finally coming together as man and wife and saying our vows in front of our friends and family, which was so special to us.
Wedding Readings:
Edward’s Sister, Amie did a reading for us in the Church which was a really lovely touch.
Decorations:
Pollen4Hire decorated the wedding venue with our choice of flowers and decorations and it looked beautiful.
Wedding Cake:
Traditional – Edward’s nana and mum both helped to create the wedding cake and also cupcakes too, which looked beautiful and tasted even better!
Entertainment -
Live music from The Blunter Brothers which was brilliant – lots of jazz, funky, soulful music from an incredible band!
On the day tips and advice:
Don’t panic! Everything will be ok, no matter what and the things that you thought were big and really important beforehand may not seem so big on the actual day! Best advice we can give is to really enjoy it and take it all in as it goes quite quickly!
The best thing about being married:
It feels like the start of your relationship is just beginning and the wedding galvanises the relationship – We feel really happy to be married and can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives and future together.
